Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Winemaker to join our team and lead the production of premium wines at our custom crush facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in winemaking, a keen attention to detail, and a creative approach to crafting unique wines. Winemaker will be working with lead winemaker and eventually taking over day to day on site operations.

Responsibilities:

– Oversee all aspects of winemaking operations, from grape receival to bottling.
– Develop and execute winemaking protocols to ensure consistency and quality.
– Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and preferences for their wines.
– Manage cellar activities, including fermentation, barrel aging, and blending.
– Monitor and maintain cellar hygiene and safety standards.
– Conduct regular tasting evaluations to assess wine quality and make adjustments as needed.
– Work closely with our cellar master and production team to coordinate scheduling and logistics.
– Keep detailed records of all winemaking activities and production metrics.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Enology, Viticulture, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in winemaking, preferably in a custom crush or similar production facility.
– Strong knowledge of winemaking techniques, chemistry, and microbiology.
– Experience working with a variety of grape varietals and wine styles.
– Excellent sensory evaluation skills and the ability to communicate effectively about wine quality.
– Proven leadership and team management abilities.
– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
– Proficiency in MS Office suite and winery management software (VINx2).
